Structure and stability of the Lukash plane-wave spacetime
We study the vacuum, plane-wave Bianchi V IIh spacetimes described by the Lukash metric. By combining covariant with orthonormal frame techniques, we describe these models in terms of their irreducible kinematical and geometrical quantities. This covariant description is used to study analytically the response of the Lukash spacetime to linear perturbations. We find that the stability of the va...
متن کاملthe underlying structure of language proficiency and the proficiency level
More D-branes in plane wave spacetime
We present classical solutions of Dp-branes (p ≥ 5) in plane wave spacetime with nonconstant R-R 3-form flux. We also show the existence of a system of D3-branes in this background. We further analyze the supersymmetric properties of these branes by solving type II Killing spinor equations explicitly. e-mail: [email protected] †b Present address (I.N.F.N. متن کاملHomogeneous Plane-wave Spacetimes and their Stability
We consider the stability of spatially homogeneous plane-wave spacetimes. We carry out a full analysis for plane-wave spacetimes in (4 + 1) dimensions, and find there are two cases to consider; what we call nonexceptional and exceptional. In the non-exceptional case the plane waves are stable to (spatially homogeneous) vacuum perturbations as well as a restricted set of matter perturbations. In...
متن کاملFermi-normal, optical, and wave-synchronous coordinates for spacetime with a plane gravitational wave
Fermi-normal (FN) coordinates provide a standardized way to describe the effects of gravitation from the point of view of an inertial observer. These coordinates have always been introduced via perturbation expansions and were usually limited to distances much less than the characteristic length scale set by the curvature of spacetime. For a plane gravitational wave this scale is given by its w...
